ATELIER:
To teach and instruct students in the studio of an artist is a very old practice. The students receive instructions that help them in their academic formation, but they also obtain a direct experience of the process of creation and construction of an artwork. Working in the ambience of a studio fosters experimentation, enforces self-initiative and innovation. ATELIER understands itself as “protein”, as an academic extension to the university education of the students. A true space and platform for work and professionalism, where the student finds the conditions, tools and means that are needed to improve and increase the productivity and quality of their academic work as much as their artistic concepts and projects. In this sense ATELIER is a complement to the technical strategies and the information that is left out by the institutional curriculum, allowing to elaborate works and projects to the specific needs of each student, and the particular context in which they live and work.
