PETRA is a non-profit space and project dedicated to the meditation, research, discussion and practice of the possibility of presenting and thinking contemporary art beyond institutional structures. PETRA’s main goal is to think and to put thought into manifest; in this sense PETRA believes –with Thomas Bernhard and others– that thinking is an essentially “domestic” practice. Therefore, PETRA’s functioning depends entirely on its founders (Montserrat Albores & Pablo Sigg) space, time and budget, rejecting, thereby, every form of fundraising or institutional support. It is hard to define PETRA because PETRA doesn’t want to be a definition, but a practice, a dialogue, a journey.
